What can i ask for?

You can ask for whatever you want to ask for. Do you want a new bicycle to get to work? A beautiful piece of art for your living room? To pay off parking tickets? Something for your children? The idea is that this is a gift from us to you, so that you can spend money on something you might not be able to afford otherwise.

What should i include in my request?

There are no rules or requirements to what you include in your request. However, requests that include more details about what you need the money for, and confirmation of how much your needs will cost, are more likely to be approved.

What do i have to do in exchange for the support?

Nothing. When you receive a gift from 599 Ideas, the money is yours to spend, period. We would love to hear from you about how our funds helped make your life just a little better, but it is not a requirement.

Will my name be shared?

No. Your personal information will be kept confidential and never shared. This is an anonymous gift for you to enjoy privately.

How do I get the money?

If your gift request is approved we will contact you to work out the most convenient way to match you with your money. We understand that people in different situations need different solutions since not everyone uses traditional banking systems.

what is the timeline for funding?

We are committed to reviewing and responding to your request within 7 calendar days. Once you have been notified, we strive to put money in your hands within another 7 calendar days, however, this will ultimately depend on the method of money transfer.

how much can i ask for?

Please keep your request to $599 or less. There are two reasons for this: first, because we are a small group with limited funds and would like to be able to spread it around; and second, because the US tax code allows us to make tax free payments of up to $600 in

non-employment income per person per year.

can i apply more than once?

You may apply as often as you like, however you are limited to one gift per year.

Where does the money come from?

Funds come from people who have a little more than they need and want to share with people who could use a little more this year. This is not a non-profit, there is not formal organization, we are just people sharing money with other people.
